FROM VISION TO SPACE

“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

NOVONO operates through a flexible network of trusted freelance collaborators across Europe, supported by longstanding relationships with skilled craftsmen — many of whom we have worked with for over a decade. Our bases in Berlin, Hällingsbo in Sweden, and Mallorca, where our founder resides, allow us to combine local knowledge with international expertise. We craft interiors that are emotional, functional, and always elegant, bringing together skills in interior design, architecture, graphic design, and project management wherever they are needed.

At the heart of NOVONO is Nora von Nordenskjöld. She imagines and develops eclectic, iconic works spanning a rich emotional spectrum, from whimsical playfulness to dramatic intensity. Her creations honor heritage and history, draw inspiration from the harmonious rhythms and patterns of nature, and challenge the boundaries of contemporary design. A polyglot and deeply hands-on, Nora loves to guide projects on-site, overseeing every detail with technical precision and care. Each project reflects her cosmopolitan spirit, cultivated over 12 years living across seven countries on three continents.

is what I do

DESIGN WITH PLEASURE

I am Nora von Nordenskjöld.

My journey in design started with Fine Arts at Maastricht and Interior Architecture in Milan, then took me from Shanghai’s Kokai Studios — where I became Head of Interior Design — back to Berlin, where I founded NOVONO in 2011. My first project, designing pools in Mexico, sparked a lifelong fascination with space, light, and atmosphere.

Over the years, NOVONO grew into an international studio with almost 200 projects and a network of collaborators worldwide. We hosted design salons in our Berlin showroom, exhibited art, and created spaces that became meeting points for creatives. For a time, we also operated a sunlit studio in Lisbon, embracing light and perspective to inspire our work.

After the pandemic, I embraced a new chapter of on-site design: six months near Munich crafting collaborative apartments, followed by six months in Tuscany transforming a historic felt mill into a guesthouse. These experiences reaffirmed my belief that design is not only what you see, but what you feel — a space alive with light, atmosphere, and emotion.

My work is driven by a passion for interiors that engage the senses. I have an unerring grasp for trends and a gift for blending the science and poetry of design, balancing tradition with innovation. Deeply hands-on and technically precise, I develop every piece of furniture, every kitchen, every floor plan down to the smallest detail, until nothing is left to improve. I approach each project with rigor and care, taking clients on a journey where every space is both meticulously crafted and alive.

Now, I bring my vision to Mallorca. Here, I merge interiors, pools, and outdoor spaces with photography and creative direction. I immerse myself fully in every project while grounding my creativity in time with my horses and the Missouri Foxtrotters I breed — a source of balance and inspiration. Rediscovering my passion for interior photography, I extend my vision to capturing spaces, both my own projects and commissioned work, through the lens.

From my very first pool in Mexico to the terraces and outdoor spaces I craft today, my work is about creating places that live, breathe, and connect with the people who inhabit them.
